Cancer: Is There Nothing We Can Do? Wrong!

People often ask with great concern about scientific studies that suggest taking supplements increases their risk of getting cancer.  Unfortunately the diagnosis of cancer seems to carry a death sentence for a person, although this is not true.  While the “war against cancer” certainly has not been won, in some instances progress has been made in terms of treatment.  The issue here is really how to prevent it in the first place.

In the Journal of the American Medical Association, otherwise known as JAMA, a large study, randomized, double-blind, placebo controlled of over 14,000 physicians over the age of 50 suggests we can make an impact on our health that affects us in positive ways. “Multivitamins in the Prevention of Cancer in Men. ” These doctors were given either a placebo or a multivitamin preparation and followed for over 10 years.  This is a good, well-planned study.

The conclusion of the study:  the doctors who took the multivitamin had a significantly reduced risk of cancer!

This is not a panacea.  The message to me of this study is that there are ways to improve our health and well-being, even well into adulthood.  Never give up on your health.  You always have options.
